Donate to create FREE Java Facilities

hi all

My foundation, Meruvian Foundation have 50 people that learn Java in
my facilities, of course for free, and we develop a one stop
technopreneur program to tech them become Java technopreneur.

and i find that there is a lot of smart people, but poor, they cannot
buy notebook and their schools only provide in several city 2 hours to
access computer.

i got several letter from their school to accept them to learn Java in
our internship program, about several people that smart, may be
smarter than 50 people that come to my facilities

we have 5 facilities, and right now they lease the notebook, and
several people in my office in Jakarta, must eat 1x a day, because
they believe that learn Java can help their carreer

they only have option if not pass my program, work in factory as
assembler of production, work as servant, work in IT shop to serve
customer buy PC or do assembly.

there are a very high profile school here, because work with Intel, to
assembly the Atom netbook..and they call it the best school in this
country

i believe that Java can do more.. because we create something that
easy to distribute and can go global market.. hopefully

my program is adopt JEDI /JENI and several case study like develop
apps, and they must sell to earn money and we can use the money to pay
electricity

i just setup the paypal.com account, and i am sharing this idea to all of you.

the internship program is 1 year, and their cost to stay is US$
70/month, that is exclude electricity, and internet, and rent the
house (US$ 4000/year..expensive right!!!)

we have 20 millions high school students, my estimation 55% cannot work

i am thinking also to help them get undergraduate schoolarship, but
they must pay after graduate to teach Java again here

if you have time, come to my facility/offices and interview them

i think there are more more people like them in another country, esp
after US crisis

Proyek Baru Meruvian..

Setelah memilih banyak nama, akhirnya dipilihlah sebuah nama "Tezca" ini kependekan dari Tezcatlipoca, sebuah Smoking Mirror.

Hal yang tersulit dalam dunia technology yg terkenal cepat sekali bergerak, mungkin nafas kita aja kalah cepat dengan internet collaboration movement yang terjadi.

Semua produk sukses adalah yang revolusioner, dan saya sendiri tidak tahu apakah semua yang mencetuskan dan membuatnya termasuk kategori paranoid (only paranoid can survive..sudah baca bukunya?).

Saya salah satu tipe orang yang menganggap diri ini tidak diberkati, tetapi percaya peluang berkat dapat diperkecil dengan berusaha keras sehingga berkatnya tidak buruk-buruk amat.

Saya mempredikasikan setiap entitas yang bertahan hidup yang memiliki platform yang kuat, contoh paling hot 25 tahun terakhir adalah
- Intel dengan prosesornya (siapa yang tidak pakai ini barang dan kalau Intel tutup, kehidupan terhenti.. saya salah satunya..walaupun ada AMD juga dikantor),
- Microsoft dengan Windowsnya (berapa banyak orang hidup mati di Windows, sudah tahu 65% implementasi Opensource diatas Windows..ckckck..),
- VB6 yang locked to Windows (lihat masih ada 27% programmer diseluruh dunia yang masih menggunakan VB6),
- Java (berapa banyak yang pakai 9 juta kan, dan tahu kan perang perebutan Java saat ini, Sun gak tahan bisa keluar arena, maklum sales Java di Sun cuman 34 jt dolar, kecil sekali buat sebuah perusahaan MNC).
- Linux, ini produk paling flamboyan satu dekade ini, perang perebutan kekuasaan Linux sangat sengit, walaupun yang terjadi perang antar mereka sendiri, di Indonesia juga terjadi loh.. ayo siapa?

Setiap platform ini sebenarnya intinya mempermudah layer diatasnya, seperti Windows, mempermudah orang membuat aplikasi GUI, Linux mempermurah memiliki sistem operasi, Java mempermudah mengembangkan aplikasi multiplatform yang mature (scalable), VB6 mempermudah membuat aplikasi diatas Windows.

Facebook juga platform loh, lihat banyak aplikasi diatas facebook kan, sampai2 friendster aja ngikut2.

Platform yang diisi oleh aplikasi buatas usernya disebut Web 2.0 extended harusnya, sebab Web 2.0 kan usernya ngisi sendiri, tapi yang diisi content Web 2.0x harusnya yang diisi adalah aplikasi, dan tentu saja memerlukan programmer untuk membuatnya..

Jadi apakah masa depan itu adalah mereka yang hanya dapat membuat aplikasi mengintegrasikan terhadap sebuah solusi, gimana dengan mereka yang just user... mari kita mencari peluangnya.

End-to-End Enterprise Game Development

Akhirnya "hutang saya" telah kelar, saya telah menyelesaikan 4 session dari 5 session untuk presentasi di Indonesia Game Show.

Dimulai dengan konsep TCP-IP dan UDP untuk komunikasi antar aplikasi. Ini konsep dasar ngeGame yang paling basic kan.

Promosi material Game programming dengan JavaME, sebab JavaME ini kan de facto standard untuk mobile application, menjelaskan image loading untuk membuat sprite atau image clip.

Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan darkstar project, demo keci tentu saja. Sebab Snowman dan wonderland belum berhasil dijalankan.

besoknya, walaupun telat, yaitu 3D Game demo dengan JMonkey, LWJGL, sayang saya pakai netbook jadi texture train gak bisa dijalankan (jujurnya karena kita terbiasa pakai notebook low end.. bukan gamer sih.. hehe).

Sorenya dilanjutkan dengan presentasi Terracotta untuk mengcluster JVM, dan diskusi Real Network, kebetulan ada perwakilannya yang datang dan duduk menshare pengalaman.

Menarik kan, dunia Java sudah bisa semuanya..
